Why isn't Yarmouth $100 like Boston?
Delivery is $100 per load inside 30 driving miles of the Dispatch Office, plus $4 for every mile past 30. Yarmouth sits roughly 72 driving miles out — down Route 3, over the Sagamore Bridge, then Route 6 to exit 8 or 9. That is close to 145 miles round trip and a good chunk of a driver's day. No town on Cape Cod falls inside the flat zone, and we would rather print $266 than pretend the canal isn't there.
What does "per load" mean on my order?
A dump truck carries one load per trip, and the trip costs the same whether the body is full or half empty. So the fee attaches to the truck, and loads are counted per line item. Five yards of Black Mulch plus five yards of Red Cedar is two line items, two trucks and two fees — even though ten yards of a single mulch rides out on one.

Is one full load really cheaper than two half loads?

The lever is simple: pick one material and order it to the cap. Splitting ten yards across two mulch colours costs an extra $269 and buys you a colour line in the bed. If you genuinely need two materials, budget for the second fee rather than discover it at checkout.
The same arithmetic runs in the other direction. There is no minimum order, but a single yard to West Yarmouth still carries the full $266. One yard is rarely worth a Cape trip — if you are close to the cap, fill it.
