What Does Bulk Material Delivery to Bristol County Actually Cost?

Bristol County delivery runs $100 to $227 per load from our Dispatch Office in Dorchester. Easton is the only town fully inside the 30-mile flat zone at $100. Mansfield is $104, Taunton $123, Attleboro $133, Fall River $168 to $180, New Bedford $182 to $207, Dartmouth $204 to $225. The fee is per truck trip.

Do you actually deliver to Bristol County?

Yes. Bristol County is part of our service area alongside Suffolk, Middlesex, Norfolk, Essex, Plymouth and Barnstable Counties — 460+ areas served. Every one of the county's 20 municipalities is on the list, from Easton down to Westport.

Everything ships from one yard: 18 Jan Karski Way, Boston MA 02125, in Dorchester. There is no Brockton yard and no southern depot, so every mile below is measured from Dorchester.

How is the delivery fee calculated?

Fee per load = $100 + $4 × (driving miles beyond 30), rounded to the dollar.

Inside 30 driving miles the fee is a flat $100. Past that, each mile adds $4. Mansfield is the clearest example on the map: at 30.9 miles it is 0.9 miles past the line, so $100 + ($4 × 0.9) = $103.60, rounding to $104. That is the entire mechanism — no fuel surcharge, no zone tables.

The detail that matters most: the fee is charged per load — per dump-truck trip — not per order.

What does delivery cost in my Bristol County town?

Verified per-load fees, cheapest first. Where a range is shown it is real — villages and ZIPs in one town sit at different distances.

Town Fee per load Notes

Norton $119–$131 by ZIP

Your exact number — to your ZIP, not your town — comes from the ZIP checker on every product page, in the cart, and on the delivery page. A $25 spread inside one town is common.

Why is Easton $100 and Dartmouth $225?

Distance, and nothing else. Easton's four ZIPs all sit inside 30 driving miles, so Easton pays what a Newton or Quincy customer pays. South Dartmouth is 58-plus miles out — 28 miles past the flat line at $4 a mile.

Geography reinforces it. The northern tier — Easton, Mansfield, Norton, Raynham, Taunton, Attleboro — is inland, on heavier glacial till, and a straight run down Route 24 or I-95. The SouthCoast towns are working waterfront and sandy coastal ground, and simply a long drive. We would rather print $225 than bury it in the material price.

What are load caps, and why do they decide what I really pay?

  • Mulch: 10 cubic yards per trip.
  • Rock, stone, sand and soil: 6 cubic yards per trip.
  • Loads are counted per line item. Five yards of Black Mulch plus five of Red Cedar is two loads, not one, because they are two products.

Two consequences. Going one yard over a cap doubles your freight: 10 yards of mulch to Fall River is one trip at $180; 11 yards is two trips at $360. And splitting a small order across several products multiplies the fee — 3 yards of loam, 2 of compost and 2 of stone into New Bedford is three loads, $606 of freight on 7 yards of material.

So the two rules in this county are order to the cap and consolidate line items wherever one product can do the work of two. A single 6-yard load of blended soil often beats loam plus compost bought separately.

What is included, and what is not?

Material is sold by the cubic yard and delivered loose by dump truck — never bagged. There is no minimum order; one yard is valid.

Curbside is the default drop. On-property delivery requires a signed liability waiver, because a loaded truck marks turf and can crack a thin apron. Same-day and next-day are usually available; weekends fill first.

If a route looks longer than your phone's, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation publishes the weight restrictions heavy vehicles are held to, and the USDA NRCS Web Soil Survey maps the county's soils in detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is any part of Bristol County inside the flat-rate zone?

Easton, entirely — all four ZIPs are under 30 driving miles, so delivery is $100 flat. Mansfield misses it by 0.9 miles and pays $104. Everywhere else is priced on mileage.

Is the delivery fee charged per order or per load?

Per load, meaning per dump-truck trip. Loads are counted per line item; stone, sand and soil cap at 6 yards a trip and mulch at 10. A 12-yard mulch order is two loads and two fees.

How do I get an exact price for my address?

Use the ZIP checker on any product page, in the cart, or on the delivery page. It returns the real fee for your ZIP rather than a town average.

Can I combine two materials into one delivery?

No. Loads are counted per line item, so two products means two loads even if the combined volume is small. The saving comes from picking one product and ordering it to the cap.
