Washed ¾" stone is the standard choice for a strip along the foundation — angular crushed granite when drainage is the priority, rounded ¾" riverbed when looks lead. A band 12–18 inches wide keeps rain splash off the siding, discourages weeds against the wall, and drains fast because washed stone carries no fines to trap water.
