FAQ

What size stone for a gravel parking pad?

A gravel parking pad wants two layers: 4–6 inches of dense-graded base, topped with 2–3 inches of 3/4-inch crushed gravel. The base — Dense Pack, a 3/4-inch-to-minus blend with fines — compacts into the load-bearing slab that keeps tires from sinking. The clean 3/4-inch top coat sheds water and stays presentable.

A 10 x 20 ft pad (200 sq ft)

Base: Dense Pack, 5–6 inches compacted ~3.5 cubic yards
Top: 3/4-inch gray granite, 2–3 inches ~1.5 cubic yards

Both ride up to 6 cubic yards per truckload, so this pad ships as one load per material. Order Dense Pack and Gray Granite 3/4-inch, and check your own dimensions with the material calculator.
