FAQ

How soon can I plant after spreading loam?

Immediately — screened loam is plant-ready the day it is spread. There is no waiting period, no cure time, no settling month: grade it, firm it lightly, and seed or plant the same afternoon.

Late April through May is prime seeding weather around Boston, so the usual rhythm is loam delivered in the morning, spread and raked by mid-afternoon, seed down before dinner. Depth depends on the job: 4–6 inches for a new lawn, a quarter to half inch raked in as a topdress over existing grass. One yard covers about 80 sq ft at 4 inches, so a full 6-yard load preps roughly 480 sq ft of new lawn.

Order Screened Loam by the yard — up to 6 yards per load, delivered Monday–Saturday.
