FAQ

How much loam do I need to regrade around my foundation?

Measure the foundation length you're regrading, plan a band about 3 feet wide, and figure a 4-inch average depth — for a typical 120 linear feet, that's 4.4 cubic yards, so order 5. The point of the project is pitch: build the grade so it slopes away from the house and surface water sheds off instead of pooling at the wall.

The math, step by step

  • 120 linear ft × 3 ft band = 360 sq ft
  • 360 sq ft × 4" deep ÷ 324 = 4.4 cubic yards
  • Round up to 5 — fresh loam settles as it's watered and compacted

Screened loam spreads and grades smoothly for exactly this kind of work. Order loam by the cubic yard and check your own footage with the material calculator.
