Take the area in square feet, multiply by 2, and divide by 324 — a 100 sq ft low spot raised 2 inches needs 0.62 cubic yards, so order 1 yard. Our minimum is 1 cubic yard anyway, and the extra lets you feather the edges into the surrounding grade so there is no abrupt lip.
Quick 2-inch lift amounts
| 100 sq ft | 0.62 → order 1 cubic yard |
| 250 sq ft | 1.54 → order 2 cubic yards |
| 500 sq ft | 3.09 → order 3.5 cubic yards |
| 800 sq ft | 4.94 → order 5 cubic yards |
Low spots are rarely uniform — measure the deepest point, use the average depth in the formula, and compact as you go. Pick a material from rock and gravel and check your numbers in the material calculator.
