FAQ

How much does a yard of mulch cover at 2 inches?

One cubic yard covers about 162 sq ft at 2 inches — the standard refresh depth for established beds. The math is simple: a yard spreads 324 sq ft at 1 inch, so doubling the depth halves the coverage. Two inches is the sweet spot when beds still hold some of last year's mulch; brand-new beds usually get 3 inches instead.

Refresh coverage at 2 inches

1 yard ~162 sq ft
3 yards ~486 sq ft
5 yards ~810 sq ft
10 yards (one full load) ~1,620 sq ft

Measure your beds, run the total through the material calculator, and order from bulk mulch — round up to the next half yard so you do not run short on the last bed.
