FAQ

How many yards of garden soil for a 10x10 vegetable garden?

Figure 2.5 to 3 cubic yards of garden soil for a 10×10 vegetable garden filled 8 inches deep — and 4 yards for a full 12-inch raised fill. The math: 100 sq ft × 8 ÷ 324 = 2.5 yards, and at 12 inches it's 3.7, so order 4. Either amount fits a single 6-yard soil load.

10×10 garden fill amounts

Fill depth Math Order
8" tilled bed 2.5 yd 3 yd
12" raised bed 3.7 yd 4 yd

Mid-April is the moment — fill now, let a week of rain settle it, and the bed is ready for Memorial Day tomatoes. Garden Soil is the ready-to-plant blend; run other bed sizes through the material calculator.
