FAQ

How many square feet will 3 yards of loam cover?

About 300 sq ft at a 3-inch depth, or roughly 240 sq ft at 4 inches. One cubic yard covers ~100 sq ft at 3 inches and ~80 sq ft at 4, so three yards simply triples those numbers. Pick the depth first — topdressing needs far less than building a new seedbed — and the coverage falls out of the table below.

3 yards of loam, four ways

1 inch (heavy topdress) ~972 sq ft
2 inches ~486 sq ft
3 inches ~300 sq ft
4 inches (new lawn) ~240 sq ft

Three yards rides comfortably in one truck, since loam caps at 6 per load. Order screened loam, and check your footage with the material calculator.
