FAQ

How many square feet does a ton of gravel cover?

A ton of gravel covers roughly 115 sq ft at 2 inches deep, or about 75 sq ft at 3 inches. One ton equals about 0.7 cubic yards of stone — worth knowing because quotes and how-to guides mix the two units constantly.

Tons vs. cubic yards

Unit Coverage at 2" Coverage at 3"
1 ton (≈ 0.7 cy) ~115 sq ft ~75 sq ft
1 cubic yard (≈ 1.4 tons) ~162 sq ft ~108 sq ft

Ottr sells stone by the cubic yard, delivered up to 6 yards per truckload — so if a project guide hands you tons, multiply by 0.7 to get yards and order that. Browse rock and gravel and convert your square footage with the material calculator.
