20 cubic yards of stone is 4 truckloads — 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 — and each load carries its own delivery fee. Stone, gravel, sand, and soil max out at 6 cubic yards per truck, so divide your total by 6 and round up. That round-up is where the money hides.
The ceiling math
- 18 yards = exactly 3 full loads — 3 delivery fees
- 19–24 yards = 4 loads — the 4th fee applies whether the last truck carries 1 yard or 6
- Trim to 18 if you can; if you truly need more, anything up to 24 rides in the same 4 trucks
Dispatch sequences multi-truck orders automatically, and volume pricing is available on big jobs. Fee details are on the delivery page; size the job first with the material calculator.
