FAQ

Does black mulch stain concrete or pavers?

Black mulch can leave a temporary tint on wet concrete or pavers, but it isn't a permanent stain. The colorant — iron oxide and carbon black — can migrate while fresh mulch sits wet against a pale surface, then fades with rain and sun.

Keep hard surfaces clean

  • Sweep strays off walks while they're dry; don't hose fresh black mulch across pavement
  • If a tint shows up, rinse after the mulch has settled — weathering does the rest
  • Keep fresh black mulch off new or light-colored concrete for the first few weeks

A crisp edge or brick border adds a buffer where beds meet bright walkways. The colorant itself is safe for plants, people, and pets. Order black mulch by the cubic yard — up to 10 yards per truckload — and book your spring delivery date early.
