FAQ

Can I use paver sand to level a lawn?

No — paver sand belongs under pavers, not on a lawn. A layer of pure sand over soil dries out fast, sheds nutrients, and creates a layering effect roots struggle to cross. Lawns level best with screened loam or a loam-heavy mix, which grass grows through happily.

Right material, right job

Leveling a lawn Screened loam or Super Loam, raked in at 1/4–1/2 inch per pass
Paver and slab bedding Paver sand, screeded at 1 inch
Deep low spots Fill or loam brought up in lifts, finished with loam on top

For lawn work, start with Super Loam; keep Paver Sand for the patio. Figure quantities with the material calculator.
