Spring is officially in full swing across Middlesex County — and that means one thing for homeowners and gardeners from Stoneham to Woburn: it's time to get your soil right. Yesterday, the Ottr Landscape Supply crew made a bulk delivery of 5 cubic yards of Horticultural Soil Mix to a residential property right here in Stoneham, MA, and the results speak for themselves.
That beautiful, dark mound sitting in the driveway is more than just dirt — it's the foundation for a thriving garden, a refreshed lawn, or a brand-new raised bed build. And getting it there was as simple as placing an order on our website.
Our Horticultural Soil Mix is a premium, blended growing medium engineered for gardens, flower beds, vegetable plots, and landscaping installations across Greater Boston. It's rich in organic matter, has excellent drainage characteristics, and provides the loose, workable structure that plant roots love.
Unlike screened topsoil, which is ideal for grading and lawn establishment, Horticultural Soil Mix is specifically formulated to support plant growth from day one — making it the go-to choice for:
- Vegetable gardens and raised beds
- Flower beds and perennial borders
- Tree and shrub installations
- Top-dressing thin or tired lawns
- Filling new or expanded planting areas
How Much Do You Actually Need?
One of the most common questions we get from homeowners in Stoneham, Winchester, Woburn, and surrounding Middlesex County towns is: how many cubic yards do I need? For this delivery, 5 yards covered a generous planting area — roughly 100 square feet at 6 inches deep, or 200 square feet at 3 inches deep.
Not sure how much to order? Use our free Landscape Materials Calculator to get an instant estimate based on your area dimensions. No math required.
Our dump truck carries up to 6 cubic yards per load for dense materials like soil — so a 5-yard order ships in a single delivery, keeping your costs low and your project on schedule.
Bulk Soil Delivery in Stoneham and Middlesex County
Stoneham sits right in the heart of our core delivery territory. Whether you're in a neighborhood off Main Street, up near Spot Pond, or anywhere in between, Ottr Landscape Supply delivers bulk landscape materials directly to your driveway — no hauling, no pickup trucks, no trips to the garden center with a few bags at a time.
We serve all of Middlesex County, including Woburn, Winchester, Malden, Medford, Wakefield, Reading, Burlington, Lexington, and dozens of surrounding communities. With delivery at $100 per load within 30 miles of our Dispatch Office (Stoneham is inside that zone), then $4 per mile beyond, and same-day delivery available on most orders, getting bulk materials to your door has never been easier.
Why Order Bulk Instead of Bagged?
Bagged soil from a big box store might seem convenient, but the math doesn't lie. A single cubic yard equals roughly 27 cubic feet — that's 13–14 standard 2-cubic-foot bags. At $8–$10 per bag, you're paying $100–$140 just for the material in one yard. Our bulk Horticultural Soil Mix delivers dramatically more value per cubic yard, and it arrives in one trip, right where you need it.
For a 5-yard project like this Stoneham delivery, that difference in cost and convenience is significant — and your back will thank you, too.
