Brookfield is what remains of an eight-mile grant that spun off three other towns, North Brookfield in 1812, West Brookfield in 1848 and East Brookfield in 1920, and the earliest settlement sites are still legible on the ground at Foster Hill and Elm Hill. The Quaboag River winds through the northern half in a broad band of bog and meadow laid down on a former glacial lakebed, feeding Quaboag Pond and Quacumquasit Pond and leaving a lot of wet, low ground that will not carry a truck in March. Route 9 through the middle of town is the Old Boston Post Road, and Benjamin Franklin's 1763 milestones still stand along it, while Route 148 runs south toward Sturbridge. Working farmland survives along Lake Road and Long Hill Road, and the southern half rises into small hills with firmer, stonier footing. Ottr Landscape Supply delivers across all of it, whether you're building up a soggy bed near the Quaboag meadows, setting a gravel pad on a farm off Lake Road, or mulching a house lot along Route 9 in Brookfield Center.
Same-day and next-day dump truck loads of mulch, gravel, screened loam, and decorative stone — no minimum order required, and we know the low ground near the Quaboag stays soft into spring and often wants a drop at the head of the drive rather than out back. Delivery to Brookfield runs about $264 per load — $100 covers the first 30 miles from our Dispatch Office, then $4 per mile for the 41 miles beyond it. Since a single truck holds up to 6 cubic yards, filling the body brings delivery down to about $44 per yard. We also serve neighboring East Brookfield, West Brookfield, and Sturbridge on the same routes. For gravel and crushed stone specifically, see our Brookfield gravel supplier page. When you need dependable Brookfield landscape supply, Ottr is the trusted name for bulk materials delivered right to your driveway or job site.
