Ottr's minimum bulk delivery order is 1 cubic yard. The maximum per truckload is ~14 cubic yards (volume cap) or ~30,000–40,000 lbs (weight cap, whichever hits first). Anything larger requires multi-truck dispatch — see our 40-ton FAQ for the math.
Why 1 cubic yard is the floor
- Truck dispatch economics — sending a dump truck for less than a cubic yard isn't viable on the cost side
- Material handling — anything below 1 cy is bag-territory, and we focus on bulk-only operations
- Most projects clear it easily — a 12'x12' paver patio bedding sand layer needs ~0.5 cy, but most landscape projects (mulch refresh, driveway gravel, lawn topsoil) are 3+ cy
How much is 1 cubic yard?
- Mulch: ~100 sq ft of bed at 3" depth (typical refresh)
- Topsoil: ~100 sq ft at 3" depth, or 80 sq ft at 4"
- Crushed stone (driveway): ~80 sq ft at 4" depth
- Compost (top dressing): ~324 sq ft at 1" depth (lawn topdress)
