Same-day delivery is available on orders placed before 10:30 AM Monday through Saturday. Next-day delivery is the default for everything ordered after that cutoff. The actual time window depends on a few factors below.
What determines your delivery speed
- Order time — the 10:30 AM cutoff is the dispatcher’s loading deadline for same-day routes. Earlier = better window choice.
- Day of week — weekend slots fill up by mid-week. For Saturday delivery, place your order by Wednesday.
- Distance from Dorchester dispatch yard — inner-Boston addresses run tighter time windows; outer-suburb addresses (Brockton, Plymouth, Lexington) typically get 4-hour windows.
- Material type — stocked materials (mulch, gravel, topsoil) ship same/next day. Special-order materials add 2-3 business days.
- Weather — heavy rain, snow, or hard ground frost can push delivery 1–2 days; we always call ahead if the slot needs to shift.
Typical delivery scenarios
- Order Monday 9 AM, Brookline address: Likely Monday afternoon (12–4 PM) delivery slot.
- Order Friday 2 PM, Plymouth address: Likely Saturday morning (8 AM–12 PM) slot.
- Order Sunday for next week: Tuesday or Wednesday slot, your pick.
