No — you don't need to be home for an Ottr delivery. Most of our deliveries happen unattended. Just provide clear drop-off instructions at checkout (e.g. "left side of driveway, by the garage door"), and our driver will dump the material exactly where you asked.
What we need from you for unattended delivery
- Clear drop instructions at checkout or via text — specific location, distance from curb, any visual landmarks
- Open access — driveway clear of cars, gates unlocked or codes provided
- Photo of the spot (optional but helpful) — attach in checkout notes if access is unusual
- Phone number — we always call/text 15 minutes out and can field last-minute placement questions
When being home helps (but isn't required)
- On-property delivery (truck driving onto your lawn or specific yard area) — customer waiver required, easier to confirm placement in person
- Tight-access addresses — the driver may want to verify clearance before committing the truck
- First-time deliveries — walks the driver through your preferred drop spot for future orders
What happens if access is blocked when we arrive
If a parked car, locked gate, or other obstruction blocks the drop point and we can't reach you, we'll attempt curbside delivery first. If that's not possible either, we'll reschedule for the next available slot at no charge — but we can't redeliver the same day if the route has moved on.
