Standard Ottr delivery windows run 2–4 hours wide — e.g. 9 AM–1 PM or 1–5 PM. Tighter "specific time" requests are honored case by case for an additional dispatch fee, depending on route density.
How delivery scheduling works
- Pick a delivery date at checkout (today / tomorrow / future date).
- Dispatcher calls the day before with your scheduled 2–4 hour window.
- Morning-of confirmation tightens the estimate to ~1 hour before truck arrival.
- Driver text/call when 15 minutes out.
What affects how tight a window we can hit
- Distance from Dorchester yard — inner-Boston (Dorchester, Boston, Brookline) gets tighter 2-hour windows; outer suburbs (Brockton, Plymouth, Lexington) typically get 3–4 hour windows.
- Day of week — weekends are denser routes with less flexibility. Weekdays after 10 AM have the most slot options.
- Traffic and weather — boston rush hour and heavy rain can shift windows. We always reach out if your slot needs to move.
- Same-day vs scheduled — same-day orders get the next available slot; scheduled orders get pick-of-windows.
If you need a specific time slot
For contractors coordinating crew arrivals, scheduled installs, or homeowner work-from-home schedules: add the time request as a checkout note OR call (617) 645-0987. We'll lock the window if our route allows. Specific morning (8–10 AM) and end-of-day (3–5 PM) requests are easiest to honor.
